Question 1

What are prediction market jobs?

Accepted Answer

Prediction market jobs are roles at companies building, operating, or trading on prediction markets, platforms where people buy and sell contracts that pay out based on real-world events like elections, economic indicators, or sports outcomes. The category covers engineering, product, design, operations, compliance, and trading roles at companies like Kalshi, Polymarket, Manifold, and Metaculus, plus quant and forecasting roles at hedge funds and research labs that work alongside the prediction markets ecosystem.

Question 2

What skills do you need for a prediction market job?

Accepted Answer

Skills depend on the role. Engineering roles typically need strong backend or systems experience: Python, C++, Rust, Solidity for crypto-native platforms, and familiarity with low-latency or high-throughput systems. Quant and research roles want statistics, probability, and forecasting experience. Product, operations, and compliance roles transfer well from fintech, regulated exchanges, or sports betting. A genuine interest in prediction markets, forecasting, or event contracts is valued across every role. Most teams hire people who already use the platforms.

Question 3

How do I get a job in prediction markets?

Accepted Answer

Start by using the platforms. Polymarket, Kalshi, Manifold, and Metaculus all let you trade or forecast publicly, and demonstrated familiarity is a real signal to hiring teams. Build something small that engages with the space: a forecasting track record on Manifold, an open-source tool that uses Polymarket data, a thoughtful blog post on a market structure question. Then apply directly to the companies hiring on PredictionJobs, or reach out to people working in the space on Twitter or LinkedIn. The community is small and approachable.

Question 4

What types of prediction market jobs are there?

Accepted Answer

The main categories on PredictionJobs are engineering, quant & trading, markets / research & forecasting, product, design, operations, marketing & growth, and legal & compliance. Roles span early-stage startups like Manifold and Metaculus through to well-funded scaleups like Kalshi and Polymarket, plus quant firms with prediction markets exposure.

Question 5

How much do prediction market jobs pay?

Accepted Answer

Compensation varies sharply by role and seniority. Across the industry, the typical posted salary is $175,000. Engineering leads at a $191,250 median; operations and support roles sit lower (around $115,000); and senior or leadership roles reach $300,000 and beyond. Quant and trading roles often carry performance bonuses on top of base. Exact ranges, where disclosed, appear on each job listing.

Accepted Answer
